Written in 1897, Bram Stoker's Dracula unfolds the story of Jonathan Harker, a legal solicitor, who travels from England to Count Dracula's estate in Transylvania's Carpathian Mountains. Sent to assist Dracula in a real estate transaction with his employer, Harker soon finds himself prisoner of the Count's estate and grows disturbed by the Count's nocturnal activities. Structured in epistolary fashion, a narrative of vampires, werewolves, love, and survival ensues in this epic gothic novel.
